Agency: Number of flights in Russia’s airspace rises 7.77% in Dec

MOSCOW, Jan 10 (PRIME) -- The number of flights of local and foreign air carriers in Russia’s airspace increased 7.77% on the year to 120,000 units in December, the Federal Air Transport Agency said in a statement on Wednesday.

The number of flights to international destinations grew 11.25% on the year to 62,500 flights in the period, including 24,000 transit flights, a 7.37% increase. The number of flights to internal destinations rose 4.23% to 57,500 flights.

In 2017, the number of international flights grew 13.37% to 789,600 units, domestic transportation grew 3.29% to 740,400 flights, and the number of transit flights rose 6.41% to 281,200, the agency said.
